Thanks James, I was going mad installing dwcs about 4 times, couldnt understand why other softwares like photoshop were working, only dreamweaver would stuck. After uninstalling the e security program, finally the dreamweaver worked. Thanks a million. JAi

Thanks James & Bill. Thanks for identifying the problem and provide solutions. I owned an Acer 6920G and experiencing the same problem. After I installed the patch “Acer eDataSecurity Management V3.0″ from
http://www.egistec.com/oem-acer001/program-update.html and rebooted the windows and voila, everything works fine after that. Highly recommend this solution to all acer and edatasecurity user.

Thanks James! I knew theres a conflict to other preinstalled softwares from acer, i have Acer Asprire 4920 3GB RAM. I’m on my work now I’ll try it when i get home.. thanks in advance for figuring it out for us James!,..

The special ‘DreamWeaver’ patch from EgisTec solves the problem without uninstalling anything. EgisTec (who wrote the eDataSecurity Management program running on Acer laptops) updated their ‘update’ page on their website and it works. You can download the patch from: http://www.egistec.com/oem-acer001/program-update.html and all you need to do is to install it, and DreamWeaver will run without a problem.

I use: Acer TravelMate 6592, T7700, 4GB RAM, Windows Vista Business.

For people who are not using Acer laptops but experiencing a similar problem, it is possible that you have the same or similar security program (access control to files, locations etc.) that is causing the same problem. Check with the original software vendor or the manufacturer website driver/software updates.

This is not only an Acer problem. I’m working on a home brewed Win XP desktop and I’m getting the same error.
